Dad, Mom or a Combo

As I walked past this picture hanging in Lynn's living room the other night, I couldn't help but wonder who Baby Girl Benson would like. Some people think Caroline looks just like me...others say Dave and others say a mixture. We were upstairs tonight getting her room ready and I'm like, Caroline...do you realize you are going to have baby sister in a few months?! I am so excited but it is hard to believe I am actually having another baby. I am anxiously deep cleaning and nesting in the house. I know that sounds silly, but I think there is some truth to it. I feel like if I don't get it done, it will never get done. Oh well it is a good excuse to be super productive and slightly annoying or possibly very annoying to Daddy Boy!

Aunt Wendy and Uncle Tom

Aunt Wendy and Uncle Tom stopped by Nana and GaGa's for a quick dinner the night before they headed down to Florida for the week. Caroline LOVES to play with Aunt Wendy. They go to the same spot every time she's in town and play "kitchen". She is really in heaven and actually told me to leave at the last play date.

Below, Nana made what could be the most delicious little treats yet. Whoopie pies? Apparently, they are well-known. My neighbor made them last Halloween and Lynn looked up the recipe. These were pumpkin whoopies which are pumpkin cake filled with a butter creme or some sort of vanilla icing. I had one and kept going back...so good.

The NATURE Center

Dave and I finally took Caroline to a place she calls home....The Nature Center. This is a hot spot for she and Nana. Lynn has been taking her there a long time. It is an adorable little place for as Caroline would say, "Bever, Hawk, Geese,Turtles, and Snakes" to live. They cater to children and well she just loved showing Daddy and me around the Nature Center!We sat there and colored a picture

Well, lookie what we have here...our old friend Mr. Beaver. Caroline has talked about this beaver for a YEAR. She has a book on Mr. Beaver and has watched him eat and swim and do all the things beavers do for quite sometime. If I remember correctly he is 17 years old. I was so excited to see him so close to the fence. I felt as if he were saying...nice to meet you, Caroline's Mom!

Happy Birthday NATE!!!! My sweet friend Tara's youngest son turned a year this past week and we went over to Birmingham to help him celebrate. If you scroll through the blog, you will see his new born pics and it is just so crazy to me how time flies. Tara did a great job with the party and Caroline had a BALL. It was awesome because we got to see more friends too. Noah, Nic, Banks and Peg were all in attendance. Plus Tara's sweet family! It was time well spent!! So glad we made the trip!

I wish I could stop time.....

I saw this precious video when looking through old stuff and I had to put it on the blog! This was Easter Sunday last year and she wasn't even 2 yet. Still so much of a baby! I look at her now and just can't believe how much she has grown and changed in the last year. I just LOVE her so much and have enjoyed watching her grow! Can't believe we'll have another one soon. CAN'T WAIT!

Dinner with the Neighbors

Our sweet neighbors Liz and Wes came over with Jake and Rachel on Friday night for dinner and play. Virginia Grace, Jackson, and new baby Hudson made Caroline's night so fun. Dave cooked a summer dinner of grilled hamburgers, sausage, and hot wings. For desert, bananas fosters!
