Eyes WIDE Open

So, today, I was able to get several pics of Campbell McCall with her eyes open and I mean really open. I talked to her and loved on her. She focused in on her little sea horse or at least tried to too. Mom and Caroline missed it. They had taken a trip to the Avenue's. And Dave was working. It was just special Mom and Campbell time!!!!

Campbell McCall Benson Just Loving Daddy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This precious angel from heaven has now been in the world almost 5 days. She is such a GOOD baby. She eats and sleeps and is awake for just a couple of hours a day to nurse and or look around at her new world. Being a Mom for the second time is definitely different than the first. I have a such a stronger desire to resume "normalcy". Clean and get around faster and take care of Caroline. Having a Csection with the second was easier in terms of pain, experience, everything really but harder at the same time because I want to be healed and out and about like yesterday. I have a 3 year old to care for right?
Caroline is so in love with her and we are too. She has brought such JOY to our family in such a short time. It really is amazing! I will just have to slow down for the next several weeks....that's just where I am! And Campbell McCall is definitely WORTH it!!! WE LOVE YOU!!!
This was Caroline's "home" for months. I put little bit in this postition tonight to get some pics and Daddy Boy said not so fast. I don't want to spoil her. If she's comfortable in her little rocker well I'm gonna let her sleep there. How much do want to be that changes??? Dave likes to snuggle too!

HAPPY EASTER! 2012

Caroline Grace Benson almost 3 years old Easter Sunday. We didn't make it to church, but I wanted to dress the girls up anyway. They looked beautiful and sweet. How much has Caroline changed since last year? The above picture looks so grown up to me.Campbell has just started to open her eyes pretty consistently. But being in the sun, there is no way she could even think about opening those precious little eyes.
We tried several poses....none worked well enough that Campbell wasn't frowning from the sun. So we came in for a few pics. And then we couldn't get comfortable Mom!So Caroline went back outside for some more fun!
I love Easter! Thank you God for the many blessings I have received especially this week!!
Caroline was being a Lion Rrrrr-

Bringing Her HOME

And the first thing we have to do is hold her!!!!Caroline ran to greet us!!Sweet Neighbors did these balloons on Wednesday! They lasted all week! I LOVE my neighborhood!!!!Campbell McCall just loving the ride home!!!! She slept the whole wayI am so COZYDaddy is driving VERY carefully! Our last few minutes in the hospital....I took the beautiful day gown GayGay made for Campbell but just couldn't get her out of the hospital shirt. She looked so cozy!Bye Bye room 480 Northside Hospital....we enjoyed our stay and thought the nurses and staff were just great. I was sad...Brook Shields sad. Still am actually. I am thrilled with my precious daughter but quite emotional that this could be my last baby. It is beautiful wonderful, HARD, time but so special and precious at the same time. Every emotion you can feel I think I have felt with Campbell.

Dave stayed two nights with me and GayGay stayed two nights. I cherish this time especially with Dave. We stayed up all night and talked and loved on this precious angel from heaven. He is the BEST Dad in the world and I am so blessed to have him in my life. He changed her diapers and burped her better than I could especially having had the C. This is the last day Caroline came to visit. She was so thrilled to be there she wanted to be in every one's lap!!!! And so we let her hold Campbell. This was about day two of holding Campbell. She just couldn't see her enough. It was like she couldn't get close enough. So, I said, "Do you want to hold her?" And she got SO EXCITED!!!!!! Campbell lost a lot of weight in the hospital. More than Caroline. My RN said C-section babies have a scewed birth weight because they are filled with amniotic fluid. I thought that was pretty interesting. The first night she spit up and coughed up a lot of clear mucus. And had A LOT of dirty diapers. That being said she lost 11 ounces....so we were advised to supplement the precious angel from heaven. These are the first of those feedings. Since then my milk is in and she has gained a little bit back of that initial weight loss.

Another Girl for this Crew?

Mom and CarolineThis past week I was able to take short-term medical leave with my company. I have enjoyed spending the days with Caroline so much. We have done nothing really but sit around and play outside. Mom, Robin and the girls came up at the beginning of the week since it was their spring break. We had a great time but after a day and half proved to much when your 39 weeks pregnant. These are the last pics before the new baby gets here of the girls! We are so EXCITED to be adding another precious girl to this crew. She will fit right in and is already loved so much!!!
